He could be right this time Veteran weather forecaster Michael Fish has claimed that Britain will enjoy seven times as many scorching summer days by 2100 due to climate change. The glorious weather over the past few days will have highlighted the issue of glare to homeowners with roof lanterns. Premier Blinds have just announced the launch of a new blind “The Wave” which is an affordable and attractive way of controlling the light and temperature from glazed roofs.
The blind is a manually operated shading system that can be installed in the recess underneath the skylight. Engineered with performance fabric and components designed to weather the extremes of temperature and UV light from overhead sunlight. The only cables run close to the sides, leaving the opening clear of any visible wires when the blind is retracted. In comparison to the alternatives on the market, the Wave blind does not require a power source to be retro-fitted, which often adds significant cost or ugly trunking over new plasterwork.
