At Premier Blinds, we recognise that child safety is an important issue for anyone who is furnishing their home.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, every month a child dies of strangulation due to window blind cords. Premier Blinds is committed to raising awareness of this issue and is offering anyone with blinds in their home free safety devices. Quick and easy to fit, with no detriment to the operation of the blinds, these devices can save lives.

These devices are easy to install and work on blinds with a continuous cord.

Split cord tidy, put chain into the male section, insert female section into this. Keep cords and chain taught, fix to wall or window frame at side of the blind.

 

 

General Advice

• Position furniture a safe distance away from blinds and windows to prevent children from being able to reach them
• Do not allow control cords or chains to hang close to cots or beds, or to gather on the floor
• Do not allow control cords or chains to hang free. They should always be secured out of reach, or a cordless control should be used
• Never leave a child unsupervised in an area where there are potential safety hazards. Even if safety devices have been installed, the CEN Standard states that "persons in charge of children are ultimately responsible for following the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer"
